Construction of the first phase of the “Sribnyi Kil” park begins in Kyiv.

Construction of the first stage of the “Sribnyi Kil” park will begin in the Darnytskyi district this week. The land plot of 7.54 hectares is located between the “Osokorky” and “Pozniaky” metro stations and surrounds the Sribnyi Kil lake.

As stated by the deputy of the Kyiv City Council and the head of the NGO “Park Sribnyi Kil” Hryhoriy Malenko, since 2016, together with a team, they have been uniting people and systematically creating this park.

“We started with a simple idea of ​​creating a park, which finally turned into specific results. Dozens of working meetings were held, hundreds of community comments and proposals were processed, and the final version of the concept was approved. More than 50,000 Kyiv residents live within a 10-minute walk of the park. Based on this, the basic element of the park was determined – a closed walking path, about two kilometers around the lake, with the ability to access it from all sides of the park. All internal elements of the park are integrated into this walking route around the lake. The green area should be multifunctional. Children’s, sports, observation sites, and recreation areas should satisfy the needs of the widest possible audience. In addition, the park should be inclusive, so it is necessary to provide unimpeded access both to the park itself and to its internal elements for all population groups. Also, there will be appropriate elements and locations adapted to the needs of physical and psychological rehabilitation of our soldiers,” said Hryhoriy Malenko.

The deputy emphasized that the park’s construction is planned to be carried out in six stages.

“The first stage provides for the planning of the territory according to the project, arrangement of two entrance groups of the park, construction of a transit road that can be walked from one metro station to another. In addition, retaining walls, stairs, and ramps will be arranged, drainage systems for the entrance group will be installed, and communications will be laid. Also, paving of paths with decorative elements of the type “FEM,” landscaping work, and of course, installation of benches and trash cans in the construction area of ​​the first stage are envisaged,” said Hryhoriy Malenko.

The deputy thanked the mayor of Kyiv Vitali Klitschko, who supported the creation of the park, the general director of the Kyivzelenbud municipal enterprise Oleksiy Korol, the head of Darnytskyi district administration Mykola Kalashnyk, representatives of the NGO “Park Sribnyi Kil”, and every active resident who participated in the work.
