Soon, the Strategy for the Restoration of Kyiv will be presented to the public for discussion. This comprehensive document will regulate the post-war movement of the capital.
The spring conference “METREX 2023” is taking place in Poland, where representatives from different regions of Europe gather to discuss urgent issues and find solutions.
Deputy Mayor and Secretary of the Kyiv City Council, Volodymyr Bondarenko, is participating in the event on behalf of Kyiv. He emphasized that the city has completed the creation of the Strategy for the Restoration of Kyiv, which will soon be presented to the public for discussion. Given the significant destruction of both residential and engineering infrastructure in several cities that make up the Kyiv agglomeration, the capital today bears more burden than before the start of the full-scale invasion.
“This comprehensive document will regulate the post-war movement of the capital. The economic growth program will enable transformative changes. One of the priorities is the return of residents and the transformation of Kyiv into a kind of magnet under the condition of transparency in key processes,” emphasized Volodymyr Bondarenko.
According to him, Ukrainian cities have the right to determine the directions of restoration themselves, as they are already demonstrating greater preparedness. In particular, the mayor of Kyiv, Vitaliy Klitschko, has already attracted many international partners who are ready to support Ukraine further.
“We have a clear understanding of the priority projects to be implemented until the end of the war, which can be carried out both within and outside the Brussels platform, including some projects already co-financed by the Paris City Hall. This planning gives us hope that the restoration of Kyiv after the war will take place at a fairly rapid pace. This allows us to look to the future with optimism, to be strong among the strong. Together, we will overcome all challenges and defeat the new evil of the 21st century,” concludes Bondarenko.
